Background and Discussion:

This request relates to the Street and Drainage Improvement Project (Carol Drive and Plantation Hills Drive- Orphan Road - 2019 - aka Harris County Engineering - Street and Drainage Improvements) along Carol Drive and Plantation Hills Drive, which aims to reconstruct approximately two thousand six hundred linear feet (2,600 LF) of pavement. The project will include the acquisition of land, installation of culverts, installation of approximately one thousand fifty linear feet (1,050 LF) of reinforced concrete pipes, and approximately three hundred linear feet (300 LF) high- density polyethylene pipe, and completion of all associated site work and appurtenances.

Expected Impact:

The project aims to improve the roads condition, drainage and flooded roadways systems along Carol Drive and Plantation Hills Drive, thereby reducing the vulnerability of roadways and streets to future flooding events.

Alternative Options:

No alternative option for this project is possible other than performing no additional work. However, in this

area, the project area will continue to be a risk of flooding and structural damage to buildings within the area.
