Background and Discussion:

Modifications and repair to the Inverness Forest levee will be required to assure that all standards are met under Atlas 14 and MAAPnext requirements, thereby allowing for recertification and acceptance by FEMA.

Expected Impact:

This project will allow for continued classification as a FEMA Zone X for the area behind the levee rather than being reclassified as a Zone AE for the residents of Inverness Forest subdivision.

Alternative Options:

Taking no action will result in decertification of the levee and leaves the residents who live behind the levee subject to potentially being mapped into the AE Zone which will result in significantly higher flood insurance costs.

Alignment with Goal(s):

_ Justice and Safety

_ Economic Opportunity

_ Housing

_ Public Health

_ Transportation
