Background and Discussion:

The P118-25-00 and Tributaries Conveyance and Detention Improvements Project, also known as Bond Project C-28, will construct channel conveyance improvements and construct a stormwater detention basin to reduce the risk of flooding by taking in excess stormwater during heavy rain events and then releasing it slowly back to the channel when the threat of flooding has passed. Bond Project C-28 will work in conjunction with two proposed Harris County Engineering Department projects: neighborhood drainage improvements in the Aldine Village subdivision and neighborhood drainage improvements in the Oak Glen Place subdivision.

Expected Impact:

Harris County & HCFCD will acquire the property rights needed to build the recommended channel improvements along P118-25-01.

Alternative Options:

HCFCD would not have the necessary property rights to build the P118-25-01 channel improvements.
