Background and Discussion:

 

Expected Impact:

Coastal Lease Agreement between the Texas General Land Office and Harris County is for recreational facilities that are placed with submerged lands owned by the state of Texas.  This includes bulkheads, riprap, piers and boat launches located within state owned submerged lands and utilized for areas designated for public use.  The original agreement was executed 2007 by Commissioners court with a five (5) year term, first renewal was executed in 2011 and was revised to the maximum term of Ten (10) years, this renewal will be second renewal and it will be for another ten (10) year term.

 

Alternative Options:

This is a no-cost renewal with the understanding that Harris County Precinct 2 Park Department will continue to maintain the existing facility located within the submerged lands (Piers, boat ramps and riprap) for public use under the existing Precinct 2 Parks Department budget.
