Background and Discussion:

The purpose of this change is to adjust existing contract pay item quantities to reconcile for final payment. The final earthwork survey resulted in final quantities that exceeded the available Contract quantities, and this accounts for most of the increase within the Contract Change. Additionally, traffic delineators are being added for safety to sidewalk dead ends at the bayou along the Beltway. On Dupont St., an A inlet is being retrofitted to alleviate a steep roadside ditch condition. At the southwest corner of Oleander Street and Armand Bayou, when adding the drainage outfall, an unexpected sewer service connection was encountered and had to be reconnected. Lastly, the quantity of anchored sod quantity is being extended to cover the actual required quantity. The remaining balance of several items is being reduced to offset the proposed increases resulting in net $0 change.

Expected Impact:

This RCA is required to complete the District construction contract under original or needed revised scope.

Alternative Options:

This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
