Background and Discussion:
Grant funds will be used to equip officers that may respond to school safety emergencies with bullet-resistant shields.
Expected Impact:
Grant funds will provide much needed bullet-resistant shields for first responders in Harris County.
Alternative Options:
If we do not apply for this grant, the Sheriff’s Office would forfeit the opportunity to receive funds from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for bullet-resistant shields for officers.
