Background and Discussion:

Community Services Department (CSD) Neighborhood Nuisance Abatement Program's primary objective is the development of viable urban communities by abating abandoned unsafe residential structures in an effort to aid in the prevention or elimination of slum and blight within Harris County. The funds can be used for qualifying activities including research, public notices, court documentation, and demolition.  The CSD Program's primary objective is the development of viable urban communities by providing the following, principally for persons of low and moderate income: lead-safe; a suitable living environment; and expanded economic opportunities. The funds can be used for qualifying activities including acquisition, construction, and social services.

 

Expected Impact:

The prevention or elimination of slum and blight and provide lead-safe homes within Harris County.
