Background and Discussion:

The purpose of the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) was to examine potential design alternatives for the Westador Stormwater Detention Basin that was identified in the Cypress Creek Watershed Major Tributaries Regional Drainage Plan by Michael Baker International, dated February 2020 that recommended 26,546 acre-feet of detention volume throughout Cypress Creek Watershed. The PER was prepared by CivilTech Engineering, Inc. and is entitled “Westador Stormwater Detention Basin PER Phase K500-27-00-E001” dated August 2022. A community Engagement Meeting was held for this project on February 3rd, 2022.

Expected Impact:

The acceptance of this PER will allow the Flood Control District to move into the engineering stage of this project.

Alternative Options:

The alternative should this PER not be accepted is that the District will not be able to proceed to the design phase of this project.
