Background and Discussion:
The Harris County Precinct 2 Parks and Trails Plan was recently developed in 2019 to guide the Precinct on parks and trails planning. Developed with the community and key stakeholders, the plan outlines a long-term vision and near-term plan for priority investments in parks and trails.

This year the precincts within Harris County went through a redistricting process. The result of this has
changed the boundary of Precinct 2 to encompass parts of what was previously Precinct 1. Due to this
boundary adjustment, the Precinct is requesting to expand the Parks and Trails Plan to cover this new territory.

Expected Impact:
The updated Parks and Trails Plan will incorporate parks and trails previously in Precinct 1 and now in Precinct 2 due to redistricting. This plan will be all encompassing and allow the Precinct to plan accordingly and take action specific to Parks and Trails serving the community.


Alternative Options:
If the updates to plan are not complete, the current Precinct 2 Parks and Trails Plan is not inclusive of all parks and trails within the Precinct and could potentially cause the parks and/or trails to lose priority in implementation efforts. This...
