Background and Discussion:
Project includes the construction of two new traffic signals designed to replace the existing stop-controlled intersections. The new signals include pedestrian facilities on all corners except for the southwest corner at TC Jester Blvd and Hugh Rd. Proposed dedicated left turn lanes were added northbound and southbound on TC Jester at Swords Creek as well as on Hugh Rd. Changes include reconciliation of actual quantities used in construction with the estimated quantities included for bidding purposes. Change also includes new items for:
- Corrugated Metal Pipe due to shallow ground water which resulted in the collapse of a drilled shaft foundation hole
- Additional sign "No right turn on red" missing from design
- 118 days due to material delivery delays and utilities conflicts
Expected Impact:
Changes allow for addition of new bid items to complete the project in accordance with the original intent of the project and in compliance with precinct requests.
Alternative Options:
Decrease the scope of the project to avoid the areas impacted by existing utilities and groundwater.
Alignment with Goal(s):
