Purchase and demolition of a Severe Repetitive Loss property with FMA2020 grant funds requiring no local match.

 

Expected Impact:

Purchase and demolition of a Severe Repetitive Loss property will remove the structure (a motel) from the floodplain, preventing future flood insurance claims, and allow the floodplain to function in a more natural manner.

 

Alternative Options:

Structures remain in the floodplain and will be susceptible to frequent and severe flooding, leading to additional claims being paid through the federally subsidized National Flood Insurance Program.
