Background and Discussion:

This contract change is for additional excavation of 36,010 CY of material and additional time of 36 days for excavation and removal of soils that were discovered at the pre-construction walk through, an unforeseen condition. This soil is located in the same area that needs to be excavated for the proposed channel. This Contract Change will increase the current contract amount by $900,250 and contract time 36 days.

Expected Impact:

This RCA is required to complete the District construction contract under original or needed revised scope.

Alternative Options:

This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
