Background and Discussion:

This change in contract is needed to add one new pay item, due to the thickness of the required base material was not mentioned during the bid, which resulted in a change in material for the base material required to construct the proposed private road. To offset the cost, we are removing the existing pay item. The change also includes quantity extensions for asphalt removal to complete the original scope due to field conditions. These changes results in a net increase of $114,579 to the contract PO amount with no additional time required.

Expected Impact:

This RCA is required to complete the District construction contract under original or needed revised scope.

Alternative Options:

This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
