Background and Discussion:

Unforeseen site conditions due to the difference in location of the existing sewer main and modifications to the design details of the rectangular concrete channel, manhole and concrete channel lining has resulted in plan changes. This requires an adjustment to plan quantities and addition of new pay items. The additional cost is being offset by underrunning pay items. No time extension is being requested.

 

Expected Impact:

This RCA is required to complete the District construction contract under original or needed revised scope.

 

Alternative Options:

This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
