Background and Discussion:

This agreement is between the Harris County Flood Control District and KHOU to share in near real-time District flood warning system rainfall and stream elevation data. This data will be utilized by KHOU to show rainfall amounts, locations, and stream levels throughout Harris County and the region on both traditional and social media platforms.

 

Expected Impact:

This effort will have no impact on county services, staffing, or costs. It will have a positive impact on the ability to warn residents of the potential for flooding in areas during heavy rainfall events and the partnership with KHOU will help to drive viewers back to the Flood Warning System website.
