Background and Discussion:
The Texas Education Agency has awarded Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief II and III grants to Excel Academy Charter School which end September 30, 2023. The Harris County Juvenile Board has accepted these funds.
Expected Impact:
These funds allow the department to continue employing staff and address student learning loss attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Without these funds, other funds would have to be used to pay for these staff.
