Background and Discussion:
On November 10, 2012, Harris County Commissioners Court organized and adopted the creation of the Harris County Redevelopment Authority (Authority) for the purposes of aiding and acting on behalf of the County in the course of promoting, developing, encouraging and maintaining employment, commerce, community and economic development within the geographic area of Harris County which included administering, managing, and operating tax increment improvement districts.
The Authority’s bylaws require the County Judge to designate one member to the Authority’s Board of Directors. The Harris County Community Services Department has been notified by the County Judge’s Office to replace, Alex Triantaphyllis, Director Position 1, County Judge’s Office. Furthermore, the County Judge requests that Samantha Kealoha fill the County Judge’s Office, Position 1, unexpired term for a term ending on February 26, 2023.
Expected Impact:
Replaces Director Position 1, County Judge’s Office Board Seat on the Redevelopment Authority Board of Directors.
