Background and Discussion:

The United Way facilities are in a central area of Harris County, making it the ideal location to host our educational workshops that will recruit residents across Harris County. The facilities have been utilized in the past by Harris County Public Health for workshops, so our organization is familiar with the space, parking, and utilities provided by United Way.

Expected Impact:

Hosting our educational workshops at United Way will be beneficial for our program participants to have a location that is centralized in Harris County and will not create extended commute or be a deterrent for participants who live further out. Hosting in-person workshops at United Way will allow for more community engagement than what can be achieved in a virtual format. The workshops are dependent on in-person community-based teamwork activities and will require a space for participants to work together.
