Background and Discussion:
As part of the development in the area, a traffic impact analysis was submitted and warranted a traffic signal at the intersection East Mossy Oaks Road at Springwoods Village Parkway, to be constructed by the developer.
Expected Impact:
Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy to provide electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance the public safety and operation of the intersection of East Mossy Oaks Road at Springwoods Village Parkway.
Alternative Options:
All Traffic Signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or not install the traffic signal at the intersection. Both options pose a public safety concern and will impact the operation and increase delay of the intersection.
