Background and Discussion:

 

The purpose of this engineering study initiative is to enhance the County’s transportation safety,

resilience and operational performance by developing comprehensive engineering guidelines for

flood warning systems on Harris County roadways. These engineering guidelines are to

incorporate common flood warning components including, but not limited to: early warning

systems, roadway flood sensor technologies, traffic control devices, and any other notification

devices into existing (and future) Harris County transportation systems.
