Background and Discussion:

Harris County Veterinary Public Health has been providing animal control services to The City of Tomball for a monthly fee. This fee has not been increased since 2006, even as the cost of operations and personnel expenditures have increased over time. This amendment will increase the amount of money the City will pay County for services from $2,000 per month to $3,000 per month.

Expected Impact:

The approval of this item will allow Harris County Veterinary Public Health continue to provide these services to the City of Tomball and help promote responsible pet ownership, reduce the number of stray cats and dogs, reunite lost pets with their owners and increase revenue.

Alternative Options:

Harris County Veterinary Public Health is already providing these services to The City of Tomball.
