Background and Discussion:
The District's participation is funding only. The design and construction would be handled by Buffalo Bayou Partnership. The total cost of the project is $3,336,000. The District's cost share is 50/50 or $1,668,000. The project would be funded by the Z-02 Bond Fund.

Expected Impact:
The project would provide the District multiple benefits including better access for our airboat operations and bank erosion mitigation along the south side of Buffalo Bayou. Several other government agencies and organizations that currently use the existing boat ramp would also benefit from the upgraded boat ramp. These include Harris County Sheriff's Office, the Houston Police Department, the Houston Fire Department, the Port of Houston, the EPA, and University of Houston.

This would delay the progress of this boat ramp project, as Buffalo Bayou Partnership states that they have already secured their 50 percent share of the funding. Additionally, the benefits to the District of better access for our airboat operations and bank erosion mitigation along the south side of Buffalo Bayou would either be delayed or not materialize.
