Background and Discussion:

This project has two main priorities, to evaluate erosion concerns and recommend solutions and to evaluate flooding concerns and recommend solutions. Additional analysis is required to modify the flood reduction recommendations so that they are self-mitigating and constructible without added detention. The detention site that was considered is not attainable and, due to dense development of the area, other detention sites are also unlikely.

Expected Impact:

The goal of the additional analysis is to ensure that a recommendation is provided that is fully constructible without added detention. If future detention does become available, this recommendation is expected to pair well with that option and its flood reduction benefit is expected to increase.

Alternative Options:

Without the additional analysis, this study will have erosion recommendations that have already moved into the next phase for further consideration, but it will not have a flood reduction recommendation to send to Preliminary Engineering.
