Background and Discussion:
Bond Project C-35 received $6.3 million in CDBG-DR grant funds. The construction cost for the ongoing project came in under budget. The District has received permission from GLO through HCCSD to use the remaining grant funds for an additional phase of construction to reduce the risk of flooding along the P118-14-00 tributary channel.
Expected Impact:
This agreement will allow S & B Infrastructure, LTD, to design conveyance improvements and prepare construction documents to the P118-14-00 tributary between the Little York and Hopper stormwater detention basins that were recently constructed. This will further reduce the flood risk to residents and structures in Halls Bayou.
Alternative Options:
If this is not approved, the District will not be able to expend the remaining CDBG-DR grant funds. S & B Infrastructure, LTD. is the existing designer of record for Bond ID C-35 and has special knowledge of the P118-14-00 tributary to enhance the phase 2 design.
