Background and Discussion:

The pavement improvement project aims to reconstruct the existing roadway network within the Mossy Oaks Subdivision to reflect Harris County Standards. Currently, the roadways vary in width but are all 20 feet wide or less and have a substandard cross slope. Once completed, all streets, totaling approximately 6,550 feet, will be rebuilt as 20 feet wide and have a 2% cross slope.

 

This project will take place along Marcia Drive, Beverly Drive, Kelly Drive, and Cathy Drive and reconstruct all remaining asphalt driveways not part of the ongoing 2016 CDBG-DR funded drainage improvements up to the ROW edge. Any driveway not currently meeting standards (either dirt or gravel) will be upgraded to asphalt or concrete and will connect into the improved roadway.

 

Expected Impact:

Improving the roadways will ensure reliable and safe transportation and efficient movement of people for nearby communities and residents.
