Background and Discussion:
The overall goal of this program is to sustain the Harris County Sheriff’s Marine Unit by purchasing one SeaKeeper Vessel Gyro-Stabilizer. This is funded through FY2020 Port Security grant program.
Expected Impact:
The requested SeaKeeper Vessel Gyro-Stabilizer will enhance the Marine Unit and Dive Unit's capabilities and ensure effective response of trained personnel and fully operational equipment to support the Houston Ship Channel and for the safety and security of industry and the citizens of Harris County
Alternative Options:
Without this grant award, Harris County would forfeit the opportunity to receive funding to protect the citizens of Harris County.
