Title: Request by the County Judge for discussion and possible action directing the Office of County Administration to work with other relevant departments, subject-matter experts, law enforcement, and community members to propose and explore funding options-including the Capital Improvements Program and other appropriate funding sources-for one-time, safe neighborhood infrastructure investments totaling at least $50 million based on the successful "Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design" model-cleaning and greening vacant lots, maintaining neighborhood green spaces, adding tree coverage, air conditioning and other initiatives to reduce heat, improving sidewalks and walking conditions, improving street lighting in residential areas, and addressing dangerous or abandoned structures-to reduce violence and improve neighborhood safety in Harris County zip codes where concentrations of gun violence are among the highest in the county and relevant infrastructure investments are needed.
