Background and Discussion:

This project is located in Cypress Creek Watershed, on Louetta Road, west of IH 45. The scope and proposed improvements include converting the roadside ditch to an underground concrete box storm sewer trunk system to outfall to Senger Gully, along with removing undersize driveway culverts.

Expected Impact:

In implementing the proposed drainage improvements during construction, this project seeks to reduce flood risk and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the community. This modification is a step in the process to reduce the financial, physical, and emotional burden flood damage places on homeowners and will reduce the financial impact of recovery costs to the residents at Sovereign Spring Cypress Apartments, Harris County, and FEMA. This award will provide staffing impacts for the vendor to complete this project. Fiscal impacts are from the 1080 Fund, Special Mobility Funding for the Recovery and Resiliency Division subdivision projects with the long-term goal of reducing drainage costs in the future.
