Background and Discussion:
Asphalt Roadway Reconstruction in various locations throughout Harris County Precinct 3. It includes a total reconstruction of Asphaltic pavement and pavement subgrade on various roadways throughout Precinct 3.
Expected Impact:
Reconstructing these roadway’s will improve pavement conditions, thereby improving mobility and safety for all road users. This purchase order will allow the firm to conduct field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and various other construction materials. This testing will ensure the material’s compliance with Harris County Engineering and other governing bodies specifications as required by state law.
Alternative Options:
Construction materials testing is required by state law. Thus, alternatives include issuing a purchase order for similar services to a different vendor, or cancelling this construction project.
