Background and Discussion:

This grant is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Title X project reimburses the cost of providing qualified medical, counseling, educational, and outreach services to patients seeking family planning services. Every Body Texas manages the project for the provision of family planning services in the State of Texas for HHS.

Expected Impact:

Title X assists women, men, and adolescents in planning their reproductive lives and achieves their goals for having or not having children. Title X, the only federal funding solely dedicated to family planning, recognizes that contraception and sexual health are essential to securing the well-being and autonomy of women and the creation of happy, healthy families, which consequently support the medical, social, and economic health of communities. Harris County residents, particularly those seeking Family Planning program services, will benefit from the services provided by Public Health Services. Public Health Services estimates that this grant will provide duplicated services for 1,954 individuals.

Alternative Options:

Without this grant award, patients can seek Family Planning services elsewhere, although limited resources exist as alternative options.
