Background and Discussion:

The original contract duration was 730 days (two years). This month, we are reaching the end of the

original contract duration but have significant balance remaining on the contract. This contract change

extends the contract duration by 210 days to add two additional sites E101-00-00-X030 and W167-04-00-

X005 utilizing existing contract funds. This change reallocates quantities between existing pay items to

reflect actual measured quantities and projected quantities for the added sites. The major quantity

extensions include riprap, granular fill, channel lining removal, and backslope swale grading.

Expected Impact:

This RCA is required in order to complete the District construction contract under original or needed

revised scope. Timely execution is appreciated in order to mitigate any potential delays from the

contractor.

Alternative Options:

This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order

other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the

remaining work in the construction contract.
