Background and Discussion:

Intersection Improvement - Spring Cypress Rd at Ella Blvd. - 2019 is a Capital Improvement Project to increase pedestrian safety and enhance traffic movements at the existing signalized intersection. The service outlet location statement is needed re-establish electrical service from CenterPoint Energy to power the traffic signal.

Expected Impact:

Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy to re-establish electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance the safety and operation of the intersection of Spring Cypress Road at Ella Boulevard.

Alternative Options:

All Traffic Signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or not install/remove the traffic signal from the intersection. Both options pose a public safety concern and will impact the operation and increase delay of the intersection.
