Background and Discussion:

On August 10, 2021, the Commissioners Court granted the permission to negotiate with Ward, Getz, & Associates, PLLC. To complete the work outlined in the negotiated agreement, the Commissioners Court must approve the agreement. In general, the work outlined in the agreement is to explore detention potential of parcels across White Oak Bayou watershed which is information that can be incorporated into future planning efforts in this watershed.

Expected Impact:

Once completed, this study effort is expected to yield data that can be incorporated into other future planning efforts within White Oak Bayou watershed. Additionally, the approach that will be developed to complete this effort can be replicated in other watersheds.

Alternative Options:

Alternative Option 1 - Not doing this engineering effort and not acquiring the planning information that we anticipate we will gain if the effort is completed and, Alternative Option 2 - completing the effort by the Feasibility Department staff which requires delaying the effort until staffing resources can be allocated.
