Background and Discussion:

The existing Riverside Hospital site is being redeveloped and HCSO will require a temporary location while construction occurs at Riverside.  HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division currently located at 3204 Ennis Street, Houston, Texas 77004 works mostly in the unincorporated Harris County area.  This nationally recognized HCSO division is in need of temporary lease space which includes 8,000 GSF of office space, secure vehicular storage space for high value vehicles, and a tow truck inspection area.

Expected Impact:

This relocation of HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division to unincorporated County area will bring the division closer to the areas which presents the largest volume of the work effort for this division.

Alternative Options:

To purchase land in North Harris County and to build a new building consolidating current division which is scattered in several locations to one location at a substantial higher cost.
