Background and Discussion:
Harris County is responsible for appointing two (2) representatives and respective alternate delegates to the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Transportation Policy Council. Currently, Judge Hidalgo and Commissioner Garcia serve as the County’s representatives, and John Blount and Milton Rahman serve as their respective alternate delegates. This action requests approval to replace John Blount, outgoing County Engineer, with Loyd Smith, Interim County Engineer, as Judge Hidalgo’s alternate delegate.
Expected Impact:
This appointment will ensure the continuity of Harris County’s representation at the regional Transportation Policy Council.
