Background and Discussion:
The City of Tomball is developing the Tomball Medical Complex and as part of the development, a new roadway, Medical Complex, will tie into Hufsmith Kohrville Road. The intersection warranted a traffic signal and will be constructed by the City of Tomball. The traffic signal will be maintained and operated by the County and a service outlet location statement is needed to obtain electrical service from CenterPoint Energy to power the traffic signal.

Expected Impact:
Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy to provide electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance the public safety and operation of the intersection of Hufsmith Kohrville Road and Medical Complex Boulevard.

Alternative Options:
All Traffic Signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or not install/remove the traffic signal from the intersection. Both options pose a public safety concern and will impact the operation and increase delay of the intersection.
