Background and Discussion:
West Gulf Bank Road is a Capital Improvement Projects to widen the roadway from 2 lanes to 4 lanes from I-45 to Airline Drive. During the study phase of the project, a traffic signal was warranted at the intersection of West Gulf Bank Road at Cobbleshire Drive. The service outlet location statement is needed to obtain electrical service from CenterPoint Energy to power the traffic signal.

Expected Impact:
Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy to provide electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance the safety and operation of the intersection of West Gulf Bank Road at Cobbleshire Drive.

Alternative Options:
All Traffic Signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or not install/remove the traffic signal from the intersection. Both options pose a public safety concern and will impact the operation and increase delay of the intersection.
