Background and Discussion:

On December 19, 2017, Harris County entered into an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) for Harris County Toll Road Authority to provide tolling services on all segments of the METRO Express (HOV/HOT) Lane System.

In coordination with the Harris County Attorney’s office, Harris County Toll Road Authority and METRO would like to amend the agreement to allow Harris County Attorney’s office to provide toll violation collection services on behalf of METRO.  With this amendment, Harris County will receive and retain 100% of the Administrative Fees, Collection Fees and Fines for services related to Toll Violations.

Upon Commissioners Court approval of the amended agreement, METRO will present to their Board of Directors for approval and execution.

Expected Impact:

With this amendment, Harris County will receive and retain 100% of the Administrative Fees, Collection Fees and Fines for services related to Toll Violations.
