Request by the Sheriff for approval of an amendment to an agreement with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to extend the end date to August 31, 2022 for the FY 2020 Texas Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Program.

Background and Discussion:
Funding for this grant is to replace two 20-year old shuttle buses (one medium size, one large size) with two new shuttle buses that emit much lower levels of pollution.
Expected Impact:
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has approved to extend this project in order to allow the department additional time to receive the new buses that have been ordered and to destroy the old buses currently used in our fleet as required.
