Purpose and Request:
title
Request that Court declare a public necessity to acquire the parcel and associated property at 1111 Fannin Street, Houston, TX 77002 in order to move forward with the Building Consolidation project.
end
Background and Discussion:
On January 5, 2021 Court authorized detailed due diligence on an office building in the Central Business District for use to consolidate county operations in a single location. As part of the Building Consolidation project, Commissioners Court must declare the public necessity to acquire said office building for the purpose of consolidating the locations of various departments into one facility.
Court approved public necessity letter on April 27 to acquire the office building at 1111 Fannin. This revised item reflects that the County will now be acquiring the associated property in addition to the building.
