Request by Budget Management that the County Judge execute an interlocal agreement with the Harris County Department of Education providing up to $712,250 from the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund to the County Connections Youth Summer Program in support of summer enrichment activities for school-aged children.

Background and Discussion:
On March 30th, 2021, Commissioners Court approved creation of an interlocal agreement between Harris County and the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) for the purpose of supporting summer enrichment activities for school-aged children (agenda item 21-1337). HCDE will administer grants to non-profit programs across Harris County, allowing programs to enroll additional youth and comply with COVID-19 precautions.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding of up to $712,250 will be provided from the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.
