Purpose and Request:
title
Request by Public Health Services for authorization to accept an amendment to an agreement with Houston Endowment, Inc., to extend the grant end date and two associated positions to August 30, 2022 for the Healthy Living Matters Program.
end
Background and Discussion:
Harris County Public Health's Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention Division requests approval to extend our grant from the Houston Endowment set to expire April 2021. Due to loss of staff and the effects of COVID-19 on our ability to host in-person events, we have enough funding to extend our efforts until August 2022. This extension will extend our programming until August 2022 with no additional funds requested. This grant supports the Healthy Living Matters initiative, which is aimed at curbing childhood obesity in Harris County. This initiative has been in existence since 2011.
Fiscal Impact:
No additional funds are requested.
