Background and Discussion:
On December 5, 2023, Harris County Commissioners Court approved the Supportive, Healthy, Inspiring, Nurturing, Environments (SHINE) Child Care Facilities Fund with an initial allocation of $35 million to provide funding for repairs and renovations to child care facilities in Harris County, along with cost-free technical assistance and training.
Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF), the vendor for SHINE, is proposing to reallocate $184k in funds from Grant Administration to the line item for Additional Technical Assistance and Trainings.
