Background and Discussion:
The project includes nineteen signalized intersections currently operating with span-wire configurations, each at varying levels of ADA compliance. The overall goal of this project is to improve the level of service at all nineteen intersections and enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians. The proposed improvements include installing mast-arm, fully actuated traffic signals along with all required pedestrian features and associated appurtenances.
Expected Impact:
Rebuilding the traffic signal will bring the infrastructure to current standards and specifications and reduce overall maintenance cost. It will also significantly reduce the risk of failure during a catastrophic event.
