Request for approval of an interlocal agreement with the City of Mont Belvieu, for maintenance of gage stations by the Flood Control District to measure rainfall amounts and water levels in channels, bayous, and detention basins for reporting on the public Harris County Flood Warning System website (Agreement No. 2024-57).

Background and Discussion:
This interlocal agreement will allow the Flood Control District to install and maintain gages for City of Mont Belvieu in effort to have a reliable regional Flood Warning System. This amendment will make the interlocal agreement more current and match our existing interlocal agreements currently in place. Some language updates have been added to make it easier for the agencies to request new gages by letter instead of amending the agreement each time a new gage is added.
Expected Impact:
The project seeks to reduce flood risks and strengthen resiliency in Harris County and the regional by providing real-time rainfall and stream elevations to the residents, emergency, and elected officials.

The alternative to approving this item would be continue with the existing agreement, which would result in varying agreements between agencies and would not be uniform.
