Background and Discussion:
The Stormwater Detention Basins on South Mayde Creek Near the Grand Parkway - Phase 1 (Project) is nearing the end of the Design stage. South Mayde Creek has experienced repeated structural and roadway flooding over the past decade. In addition, frequent road inundation and shallow ponding are prevalent in the area. The Project is located west of Grand Parkway, North of Clay Road, south of Stockdick School Road, east of Peek Road, and within Harris County Precinct 4. The Project will consist of a single phase of construction. The objective of the Project is to maximize stormwater storage capacity and reduce flood risk along South Mayde Creek (channel ID: U101-00-00).
