Background and Discussion:
On October 16, 2025, Commissioners Court accepted a total of $1,013,859.32 in FY 2025 Port Security Grant
Program funds. Out of that amount, the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) has been awarded $260,400 for
maritime security risk mitigation in accordance with Investment Justification No. 3. The total award of
$260,400 consists of $195,300 in FY 2025 PSGP grant funds with a match of $3,500 from the Houston Ship
Channel Security District and $61,600 in General Funds.
Expected Impact:
This grant will provide funding to complete the program priorities that will buy down risks associated with
PSGP Homeland Security guidelines.
