Background and Discussion:
The Hahl North Stormwater Detention Basin is a component of the Halls Bayou Vision Plan aimed at reducing flood risk in the Halls Bayou watershed. This proposed stormwater detention basin with ~ 220 ac-ft capacity enables ~2,100 LF of channel improvements to Halls Bayou, which are also proposed under this project.

The project is located east of Hardy Toll Road and north of Halls Bayou on the Hahl Site properties acquired under the Harris County Post Disaster Relocation and Buyout (PDRB) Program. The project also includes pipeline and utility relocations, traffic control measures, and storm water pollution prevention measures. This project has multiple funding sources: 2023 State of Texas Legislative Earmark and pending CDBG-MIT Program funding through GLO/HUD.
