Background and Discussion:
On June 8, 2021, Commissioners Court requested that the Office of County Engineer provide a monthly status update on subdivision drainage projects. The 2018 Harris County Subdivision Drainage Improvement Program consists of 93 projects. Of those, 52 are Complete, 18 Projects are Active, and 23 are on Hold pending feasibility or funding at this time.
Expected Impact:
In implementing the proposed drainage improvements, the 2018 Harris County Subdivision Drainage Improvement Program seeks to reduce structural flood risk and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to the homes in the adjacent community. This will reduce the financial, physical, and emotional burden flood damage places on homeowners and will reduce the financial impact costs to the homeowners, Harris County, and FEMA.
