Background and Discussion:
The Texas Veterans Commission Veterans Mental Health Peer Support Grant enables the Veterans Services Department to provide non-clinical support to incarcerated Harris County veterans, including re-entry planning services, in-jail peer support services, and post-release peer sessions. The Harris County Veteran Services Department was awarded the Texas Veterans Commission Non-Clinical Mental Health Grant for a new grant term of 09/01/2026 - 08/31/2027.
These PCN's are 100% grant funded positions. In addition, the project ID coding associated with these positions needs to be remapped to the new project id grant coding with a payroll effective date of 08/22/2026.
